6. Introduction to the working principle of magnetostrictive level gauge
Magnetostrictive level gauges mainly use the physical properties of magnetostriction for measurement, and are not affected by changes in dielectric constant, temperature or pressure of the medium. There is a tensioned magnetostrictive wire inside the non-magnetic sensor tube
(1) The circuit unit emits current pulses along the magnetostrictive line;
(2) A toroidal magnetic field is generated around the magnetostrictive wire;
(3) There is a set of permanent magnets in the liquid level float or the boundary level float;
(4) Their own magnetic field magnetizes the magnetostrictive wires in the axial direction. When the current magnetic field and the magnet magnetic field are superimposed, the magnetostrictive wire at the position of the float will generate an instantaneous torsion;
(5) At the same time, a return pulse is generated, and the pulse is transmitted to both ends along the magnetostrictive line, one end is transmitted to the top of the sensing tube, and the other end is transmitted to the bottom of the sensing tube. The pulse wave returning to the top will be received by the transmitter electronic unit. Since the propagation speed of the pulse wave is a constant value, the electronic unit can calculate the position of the magnetic steel in the float only by the time difference between the initial pulse and the return pulse, thereby obtaining the most accurate liquid level and boundary level.
